Description: Jasper is a form of patterned, usually opaque, Chalcedony, with a wide variety of colors. It is composed of silicon dioxide, with varying impurities providing the range of colors, and has a hardness of 7.
Uses: Jasper is often worn by shamans to provide protection. It is also considered to be sacred to the Native American people, and holds an aspect of solar energy as well as a connection to the solar plexus chakra.
